A: HOKIE NATION is a documentary
about Hokie fans, especially football fans, who have gradually made Lane
Stadium the most exciting place in the country on a game day. It is
about fan culture, fan lifestyles and the Hokie experience. HOKIE
NATION: THE DOCUMENTARY covers everything from the first game to the
bowl game, the magnificent tailgates and the stadium mayhem, the oldest traditions
and the youngest fans. In short, the Hokie movie is about YOU, the best
darned fans in college football!
Q: So who are you guys? Are
you shooting this for the university?
A: HOKIE NATION is being shot by
Horse Archer Productions, LLC, a film
production company in the New River Valley. Horse Archer Productions
was founded by two Hokie alumni, Chris Valluzzo and Sean Kotz. We have
been working with Virginia Tech's athletic department, University Relations
and University Licensing, but
Horse Archer Productions, LLC is an
independent company. HOKIE NATION will be an OFFICIALLY LICENSED
product!
Q: How long have you
been working on this film?
A: We started
planning all the way back in September of 2005 and began the process of
getting clearances and approval with Virginia Tech in April of 2006.
Filming began in July, ran all through the 2006 season and was completed
in July, 2007.

Q: What does the film
cover?
A: HOKIE NATION is
really about the Hokie Nation! The core of the film
centers on the lifestyle of diehard fans from across the state and across
the nation.
We've spoken with first timers and long timers, people with Hokie vans,
busses, RVs, cars, trailers and even homes! We've also interviewed
dozens of former Tech players including some of Tech's biggest stars and the
VT coaching staff. We've spoken to town officials, law enforcement
officers, business owners, historians, poets and the people who work
inside Lane Stadium. This film shows who and what the Hokies are and
what Hokie pride really means.

Q: How did
April 16th change the film?
A: The film
was conceived according to the way Hokie fans live their lives and how
they contribute to the success of the program with their attitude,
intensity, intelligence and creativity. We have maintained that
original vision to give the fans themselves the defining voice.
